Crown Point hosted a Revolutionary War event June 22-23, 2002.

Sunday was hot, humid, and sunny. The afternoon events were advanced one hour to allow participants to pack up and get going home before the predicted severe weather struck the site. The following offers a glimpse of the British activities and camp.

Singleton's Company of the Royal Yorkers pauses to let the regulars catch up to the rest area.
Crown forces pausing for a few moments at the foundry before launching the final drive against the rebels.
A good time to water up and check one's equipment before setting out on the final push.
The humidity and lack of breeze allowed the smoke of the guns and muskets to hang in place, occasionally moving a little with a small puff of breeze.
Ready to fire when the rebels come back into view.

In view again and they're outnumbered!

Note the rusty barrel. That shows the type of weather we had on Saturday.

Outnumbered, outclassed, outmaneuvered, hot, and weary, they just had to withdraw.
